Refurbishment projects form a huge portion of the construction industry globally, which usually means existing lighting is being disposed of, often before the end of its useful life.
The GLA and WIL are collaborating to use our networks to create and publish a list of the great businesses working to retain value and re-home lighting products. If you have a contact or are aware of a scheme or business up-cycling lighting in your country then please fill in the short form below.
Let's work together to ensure that luminaires with life left in them aren't sent to the big scrapheap in the sky.
And for those lights whose time is up? Let's make sure they are recycled in the best possible way as Electronic waste.
A list of the UK's Electronic Waste collection schemes can be found here. But we'd like to create a list of all the schemes within our global network to make it easier to put contractors in touch with the right people regardless of where your project is.
If you're not making contractors aware of their relevant WEEE compliance scheme then it's a free and easy opportunity to retain value and reduce waste that you can shout about.
